2141) Letter To The Time Editor

Dear Time Editor,

‘’Briefing’’ by Andrew Purvis (Time, Nov. 5, 2007) does a great dis-service both to your readers and the magazine by referring to the PKK terrorists as Kurdish guerrillas and presenting false and incomplete information on the conflict. There is also a gross mistake in referring to the PKK terrorists as Turkish troops in the photograph for Time by Phillippe Dedouit. The pitiful PKK women soldiers in the photograph are drooped into fighting for a unachievable cause who are recruited through false promises and threats. There is no mention of the game that the US is playing with Turkey by supporting the PKK behind the scenes, as being reported daily by the world media, which may bring the two allies face to face in a war that will be disastrous for everyone.
