2160) Turks and Armenians by Osman Taviloglu

We are simply a brother to each other and one to another, perhaps this relativity is . . little different whom might call it a step brother when you are a Turkish and looking at an Armenian, but in the essence that is a brother even it is from some one else, something’s you share is the same way with all the distance you have with this person. What makes this relationship even harder and more difficult is not the hate or the love you feel for this step brother but the distance is the main factor. When you ask yourself why the distance than the way you look at the past and what you thought and listened plays the major role.

For Armenian’s the step mother is the Ottoman Government and for Turks it is the Russia and French, the important thing is not the step mother stories in the origin but the distance these both brothers feel within. When you start to look in the issue deeper, you will only see that the fault lies within two brothers because, they have been listening to other parties rather than willing to meet and hug each other to stop this hunger they been feeling.

With the more time passes the distance becomes unbearable and both parties are starting to loose focus on life what really is important, hate is the main factor that is been seed it and these brothers been watering the seeds of hate for decades.

In any way you look at it, step or your own, brother is a brother which you love and accept unconditionally and I guess we keep falling to the same mistake of accepting our brothers unconditionally. Once when we are mature enough to hug them I believe they are also ready to come to us with open arms.

Kindest Regards,
Osman Taviloglu, USA
