957) Letter to to the Rt. Hon. Mayor of Las Vegas .. attempted erection of an Armenian memorial

Dear Mayor Goodman,

We, the British European Turk community with connections to Las Vegas, kindly ask for your clarification if below news piece is indeed correct http://www.yerkir.am/eng/index.php?sub=news_arm&id=25867&id=25907

If it is correct, then we would like to make a representation to you, as the Mayor of an International city on the basis that the Armenians have not been telling the truth, nothing but the whole truth. Hence erecting a monument for a lop-sided history of convenience is unfair. Please consider the following: . . .

that,

1) Ancestors of today's Armenians have murdered 521,000 innocent, defenceless Turks that precipitated in the disastrous consequences of the World War 1 in Eastern Anatolia. They have committed high treason and despicable, ruthless treachery against their own Government (the Ottoman Empire),

2) If such a scale of treason was committed by the Japanese, German or Italian Americans during the World War 2, what would the US Government have done?

3) So called Armenian Genocide has not been recognised by the United Nations, because it did not occur within the meaning of that terminology, but a civil war started by Armenian traitors and terrorists. Tragic consequences followed, destroying both communities,

4) International Court of Human Rights in Hague/Holland has no such record and Armenians have not been able to bring their case to court for fear of failure,

5) International norms dictate that an accused is innocent until proven guilty and we have no reason to believe that City of Las Vegas does not adhere to that,

6) Armenians have been shying away from a public debate with Turks on this subject, hence this is a reminder to them for same. Onus is on them to prove their case conclusively,

7) The Jewish community at large and the Government of Israel with recognised moral ground on Holocaust and Genocide does not accept Armenian claims,

8) A prominent American writer, survivor of Holocaust himself, Prof Guenter Lewy (Uni of Utah) does not accept the so called Armenian Genocide. His book "The Armenian Massacres in Ottoman Turkey , a disputed Genocide" ISBN-13:978-0-87480-849-0 refers,

9) There is a great debate amongst scholars about the events of Eastern Anatolia during 1915. This is a matter of unresolved, unproven historical context, but used by Armenian lobbyists to advance their theories. The eventual aim being 'exacting revenge", a very sad state of mind for any human being. .

Armenian Genocide Memorial to be build in Las Vegas

YEREVAN (YERKIR) - The Armenian Community of Las Vegas, Nevada HAS announce the formation of the Armenian Genocide Memorial Committee comprised of local Armenians dedicated to the erection of an Armenian Genocide Memorial in Las Vegas.

After several meetings with Mayor Oscar Goodman and Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian , the City of Las Vegas has decided to dedicate land in downtown Las Vegas. Mayor Goodman announced Las Vegas’ commitment and the location of the Memorial at the annual April 24 commemoration.

The budget for this historical Monument has been set at $150,000.
